Exotics and Affinities
Everything you need to know about exotic weapons, exotic traits, affinities, and how the exotic fabricator works in BO7 Endgame.
Terminology
Section titled “Terminology”- Exotic Fabricator
- The machine that spawns after a Guild Strike boss is defeated. You or your squad must deal enough damage to the boss to use it. The Guild Strike leading to O.S.C.A.R. always spawns at Winery when the in-game timer reaches 45:15. A second Guild Strike (Sualk Rebu or Shadow Overlord) also spawns at 45:15 in a fixed set of locations. Zoom in on the tac map to find it.
- Nightmare Zone
- Also known as Zone 5. The circular zone that appears when a boss fight starts and remains for the rest of the game. Enemies are strongest here. Assignments, activities, and blue cubes reward the highest power. The Mega Abomination respawns in this zone after the boss is defeated.
- Exotic Trait
- Umbrella term for the exotic effects and utility bonuses that exotic weapons can have.
- Exotic Effect
- The trait rolled second using the fabricator. Occupies the first slot. All effects end with “rounds” (e.g. mortar rounds).
- Utility Bonus
- The trait rolled first using the fabricator. Occupies the second slot. Naming varies (e.g. explosive bullets).
- Reroll
- Using the fabricator to replace an existing trait.
- Upgraded Exotic
- A loadout or field acquired weapon upgraded to exotic rarity using the fabricator. Applies a 3.5x damage multiplier.
- Named Exotic
- A field acquired exotic weapon that comes with a name, an exotic camo, two traits, and a 3.5x damage multiplier (e.g. Hypersurge).
- Exotic Cache
- A case containing one random named exotic. Guaranteed from Dr. Falkner and Mega Abomination kills. Has a chance to drop from Zone 4+ activities (HVT Elim, Prime Target, Surprise Shipment, Strongbox Crack, Gear Drop), Zone 3+ Toxin Field, Zone 4+ elite enemies, and Command Center titans. Can also be found inside Zone 4+ Command Center caches.
