Glitch Fractures
Glitch Fractures are special activities in Endgame that take place outside the normal Avalon map. They use spaces from the Black Ops 7 main campaign and challenge players with multiple objectives and a boss fight. Completing a Glitch Fracture rewards a Nightmare Skill, the most powerful passive upgrade category in the game.
There are 3 Glitch Fractures, each unlocked by completing a different Operation:
| Glitch Fracture | Operation | Season | Boss |
|---|---|---|---|
| Link Forger | Operation Poison Pill (Act 1) | Season 3 | Skybreaker |
| Virus Injection | Operation Broken Mirror (Act 2) | Season 3 Reloaded | Virus Injection Boss |
| Command Killer | Operation Wall Breaker (Act 3) | Season 4 | Zursa |
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”Two conditions must be met before a Glitch Fracture can be accessed:
-
Complete the corresponding Operation. Each Glitch Fracture is the final encounter of its Operation. You cannot access a Glitch Fracture without finishing all prior steps of that Operation.
-
Defeat a Guild Strike boss in the same match. Following the boss kill, the location of the nearest Glitch Fracture is revealed on the Tac Map.
How to enter
Section titled “How to enter”
-
Complete a Guild Strike Activity to reveal the Glitch Fracture location on the Tac Map.
-
Travel to the marked Glitch Fracture location. It appears as a glowing portal-like distortion on the ground.
-
Interact with the Fracture. All squad members present at the entry point are transported into the activity together.
-
Complete all objectives inside the Glitch Fracture in sequence.
-
After the final objective, the activity ends and players are immediately exfiled. No manual exfil is required.
General mechanics
Section titled “General mechanics”These apply to all 3 Glitch Fractures:
- Wave structure: Objectives are completed in sequence. Each successive wave is harder than the last, with more enemies and stronger enemy types, including Elites.
- Enemy types: Fear variants and Guild enemies both appear inside Glitch Fractures. Late waves include Elite-class enemies. The final wave features a unique boss per Fracture.
- No extraction during activity: Players cannot manually exfil while inside the Fracture. If all squad members are downed, the activity fails and players return to Avalon without the Nightmare Skill reward.
- Counts as exfil on completion: Successfully completing a Glitch Fracture ends the match for participating players and counts as a successful exfil. Combat Rating and loadout are preserved.
Recommended Combat Rating
Section titled “Recommended Combat Rating”Glitch Fractures are recommended for players at CR 45 or higher. Community members report being able to solo at CR 45+, with the experience becoming comfortable at CR 63+. Going in with exotic-rarity weapons is strongly recommended at any CR level.
Nightmare Skill reward
Section titled “Nightmare Skill reward”Completing a Glitch Fracture rewards the player with a Nightmare Skill, a powerful passive upgrade. Nightmare Skills work similarly to Exotic Skills obtained from World Events:
- Only one Nightmare Skill can be equipped at a time
- Each Nightmare Skill can be upgraded twice
- Fully upgrading a Nightmare Skill increases Combat Rating by 3 (from CR 63 to CR 66)
